The room was modern and very clean. We had a little kitchenette which was handy for breakfast and lunch. We did their August promo for $129 a night which was great compared to how expensive other accommodations are in summer. Friendly checkin process although they are sticklers on the 4pm checkin and we got there a half hour early so had to wait. Cons: not enough pillows in the room!! Hard to watch tv or eat cereal with one thin pillow. They need shams. Walls are thin. We were kept awake by the people above us and doors slamming. Not everyone adheres to the no smoking on the property rule. We had our window open for the fresh air and had cigarette smoke and pot smoke coming in on multiple occasions. (we stayed 4 nights) No lights outside at night so if you need to grab something from your car it’s pitch black. 2 Adirondack chairs on the property and that’s it. A picnic table would have been nice as an option.

We stayed two nights in the new King Forest Dome. It met and exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities you expect to find in a traditional hotel room but in much more unique setting. While we only had two very brief encounters with staff while we were on-site, both were friendly and helpful. The communication before hand, during the reservation and pre-arrival stages were very prompt and helpful as well. The only feedback I would suggest: 1. a step or two into the soaker tubs. While you have to have good mobility to get up to the Domes, getting in and out of the tubs was a bit tricky. 2. Fore future safety, it might be necessary to put a rail around the back edge of the concrete pad where the fire pit is, it could be quite easy for someone to step off the edge, it's not far but it could cause a fall. 3. And simply a nice to have, slippers. For getting to and from the bathroom or soaker tubs. Simple luxury, not a requirement. We walked to a couple of local dining options and found the location perfectly suited to a couple of night getaway to Port Renfrew. Thank you!

The location was absolutely fantastic—just a short walk to the seashore, with a pub conveniently right in front of the property. The room itself was clean and spacious, which made for a comfortable stay overall. However, there were a few drawbacks. The room didn’t have air conditioning, so during the first two nights it was quite warm, and we had to keep the window open even at night. On the third evening, there was a power outage that lasted about 20–30 minutes, and unfortunately later that night the electricity went out again and wasn’t restored until almost morning. Because of this, my CPAP machine couldn’t function, which significantly disrupted my sleep and left me feeling very tired the next day. The refrigerator also stopped cooling, so the food I had stored inside turned lukewarm by morning, which was very disappointing. Lastly, the water pressure in the sink was noticeably low. While the overall location and cleanliness were excellent, these inconveniences did affect the comfort of my stay.

Great place to stay while doing day hikes in the area. We stayed in the Lodge in a Superior Double room. The room was basic, but it was large, and we were able to prepare our meals in the kitchenette. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. So many hikes nearby (but you will need to drive to the trailheads). We will happily go back - there are still lots of hikes that we did not get to!

Room was clean, location is great with quick easy walk to the pub and pier. Nothing fancy but all simple amenities were included. Hot water squeals in the shower which was a bit annoying but definitely will stay here again.

The room was not what we expected, in a good way! I didn’t think we’d have so many appliances. We had a microwave, a kettle, coffee maker, and a fridge. We brought along microwavable food and instant soup so the appliances came in handy. The room was nice and clean. I really loved the local coffee that was provided…we had to ask for more! They also provided creamer and multiple types of sugar. I believe there were different types of teas, but I didn’t get a proper look. We got a pet friendly room that opened up to a grassy area with a lovely view.

Very cute renovated room. Room was very clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Kitchenette was well stocked and super handy for breakfasts and lunches. The property was beautiful and serene. Lots of amazing areas to explore. Locals were very friendly. Things to note: - food options are plentiful for the size of the community but hours can be limited; you’ll find somewhere open but there are only a few options at any given time of the day; it’s not like holidaying in the city so it’s important to adjust your expectations and consider packing food - Port Renfrew is the perfect chance to be part of nature; while the tv and wifi are lovely additions, they have their limitations, don’t expect it to be like the city

I try hard to avoid negative reviews, so please take this as a gently-intended public service announcement. First the good: we stayed at the lodge for three nights. Two of those nights were fine. The building is sturdy and secure, which came in handy as we were there for a fall storm. We honestly barely noticed the storm from our protected location. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and had what we needed. The grounds are lovely and the lodge close enough to the pub for a walk but far enough away that you do not experience noise. Now for the public service: come prepared for a very possible power outage. We experienced one after the storm (MANY thanks to the men and women of the utility crews who worked diligently to restore power within a day). I understand from locals that power outages are very common in this area (the pub actually has a "days since last power outage" sign board). The lodge does have a small generator, but it took a while to get going and seemed to have limited strength. With no power, you expect that lights will not work. But also keep in mind that water pressure becomes severly limited, the temperature might be uncomfortable, and the coffee & breakfast shop might not be able to open. We expected this and came prepared with flash lights and provisions, which helped make things much more comfortable. The lodge states that it does not offer refunds due to power outages, so be aware.
